HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Utilities is suspending service interruptions for non-payment until further notice.

This is an update to the policy, which was set to expire on April 6.

The utility says that due to the growing concern regarding the spread of COVID-19 and the efforts to reduce exposure to the virus, they recognize that many residents are forced to stay home for indefinite periods of time.

Customers should be advised that utility bill payments can still be made a number of ways that do not require face-to-face interactions. Options include payment via personal online banking/bill pay, and bank draft using HU’s My Account customer portal using either a personal computer or through Huntsville Utilities’ mobile app.

Additionally, customers may make payments via telephone by dialing 256.535.1200 and speaking with a customer service representative. You can visit their website for more information.

Customers who know they will endure a hardship associated with actions taken to curtail the spread of COVID-19 should contact Huntsville Utilities as soon as possible at 256.535.1200 to discuss their accounts.
