Huntsville Public Transit adjusts bus services

While they are limiting some things, Handiride will continue to provide grocery shopping, medical and life sustaining dialysis transportation for its clients.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Public Transit is making changes to the Shuttle Bus schedule to be able to provide service while still keeping people healthy.

Shuttle Bus service will operate:

  • Starting April 1, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m
  • Saturday service will be suspended Saturday, April 4
  • Handiride services will continue 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

“These changes will allow us to reallocate resources to comply with the State Health Department Order and still provide reliable, on time transportation services for our citizens,” said Tommy Brown, Director of Parking and Public Transit.  “When the COVID-19 emergency is over service will resume the normal operating schedules.”

Citizens who have questions can use the Route Shout app for Shuttle Bus schedules and the Amble app for Handiride service, or call the Public Transit office at 256-427-6811.
