HUNTSVILLE, Ala — One Huntsville restaurant is reopening its indoor dining area for customers after months sticking to the decision of delivery, carry-out and outdoor dining only.
Phuket Thai Restaurant in Huntsville welcomed guests back into the dining room for the first time since the pandemic began on Wednesday.
Back in March, the restaurant decided socially distant outdoor dining was the safest option for customers, offering extra heaters and freshly laundered blankets for customers.
They got positive feedback from the community on the decision. One customer even leaving behind an anonymous tip to help with laundry costs that warmed the hearts of Phuket workers.
We asked, 'Why reopen indoors now?'.
Phuket Thai and Sushi Owner, Suwit Phornroekngam, says, “If you look at the number of new cases and hospitalizations in the area, it has been down — significantly. I think it’s about time. We just feel, yeah, right to do it.”
The restaurant is taking reservations for indoor dining and only seating at 25 percent capacity.
