Huntsville City Schools hiring more teachers

The COVID-19 pandemic has not slowed down the need for new teachers

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville City Schools is looking for more teachers!

The district is now hiring a variety of positions in math, science, English, social studies, special education, and elementary and secondary education. It's also looking for instructors for elective courses including cybersecurity, art, music, Spanish, business and more.

Some of the benefits being touted are the district's emphasis on technology, innovation and collaborative corporate partnerships to support teaching and learning. HCS is also promoting its wide variety of professional development opportunities, partnerships with universities to help teachers locate advanced degrees and investment in the National Board Certification process. 

The district is hosting virtual interviews and working with colleges to conduct Zoom recruiting sessions and will help interested candidates with the application process. 

The school system provides a three-day New Teacher Orientation to welcome new employees and provides new teachers with mentors to provide ongoing support throughout the year.

HCS serves more than 24,000 students across more than 40 schools.
