HUNTSVILLE, Ala — The Huntsville Sanitation Division is advising that some areas of the city may experience delays to curbside bulk waste collection as 'spring cleaning' produces high volumes of yard debris.
The division said trucks are operating at full capacity.
“We’re running wide open trying to catch up, even running trucks overtime into Friday and on Saturday until the landfill closes at noon,” said Public Works Director Chris McNeese. “We’re asking our residents for a little grace and patience in the coming weeks.”
Additionally, the division said it is experiencing supply-side delays on routine equipment parts for truck maintenance and new trucks are on back-order.
“COVID-19 is still kicking us around a bit in terms of supplies and maintenance, but we’re pushing through it and doing our best to service our residents,” McNeese said.
