"Kindness is truly everything," said the boy's mother.

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — An unlikely friendship has formed between a 3-year-old boy and the Huntsville garbage truck driver that drives by his house every Tuesday.

The boy's mother, Elise Rose, said her son, Sage, has taken interest in the garbage truck driver that has driven their route since Sage was born, Mr. Everette.

She said Sage has recently begun doing small acts of kindness for him. She said Sage waits outside every Tuesday morning to see Mr. Everette.

"It’s been so fun watching Sage and Mr. Everette's friendship grow," said Elise. "I hope the community is inspired by their acts of kindness towards each other and it brightens their day in a time of such darkness. I also hope it shines a light of how wonderful, kind and hard-working Mr. Everette is."

Everette told Elise that it makes his day to see how excited Sage gets when he drives up. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Elise said that Mr. Everette surprised Sage with a birthday gift. Everette searched for a model truck similar to the one he drives, but couldn't find one so he settled for an old school car like the one he said had growing up.

"Kindness is truly everything," said Elise.
