Huntsville Animal Services offers 'back to school sale'

The shelter say pets are virtually the best 'Study Buddies'.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — If you're looking to adopt a pet, now's your chance! All month long Huntsville Animal Services is offering a back to school sale.

Adoption fees are reduced to $5 - $15 for certain dogs and cats. Each adopted animal will be microchipped, spayed or neutered, and vaccinated.

You'll also receive a free bag of pet food.

The shelter is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Employees at the shelter say the pets would make a good virtual study buddy for kids working from home.

"If you're stuck at home, and you may get bored. If there's something you have, a play mate with a dog, or cat, a puppy, or a kitten. And it's a perfect opportunity. And we just think it's a time where people can really help these animals here at the shelter," says Karen Buchan, with Huntsville Animal Services.
