Huntsville District 1 cleanup to take place on Saturday, July 11

The objectives of the cleanup are to paint retaining walls, pull weeds and pick up litter.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville District 1 residents are invited to take part in a community cleanup event on Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Supplies are to be picked up at the Richard Showers Senior Recreation Center before meeting up with the cleanup group at the intersection of Medaris and Blue Springs.

The objectives of the cleanup are to paint retaining walls, pull weeds and pick up litter.

The event is being hosted by Council President Devyn Keith and Operation Green Team. More information can be found here.

According to the city, social distancing and sanitization protocols will be followed and face covers are encouraged.
