HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville sanitary crews urge residents to keep the environment clean by disposing hazardous waste properly.
They hosted their 'Community Collection Event' Saturday at the new Household Hazardous Waste Facility. It's located at 1055 A Cleaner Way.
The facility opened last year in April. Crews collected old electronics, wires, and batteries.
If you missed Saturday's collection, the center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Acceptable household hazardous waste include:
Oil or water based paints
Paint remover
Car batteries
Transmission fluid
Brake fluid
Weed killers
Liquids
Herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides
Oven cleaners
Toilet cleaners
Floor and furniture polishers
Televisions
Computers
Cell Phones
Acids
Pool Chemicals
Household batteries
