Groups build beds for kids in need: Donate bedding sets, pillows to help

Associate Builders and Contractors of North Alabama is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for kids in need. They’re collecting twin bedding sets.

MADISON, Ala. — A place to lay your head at night. For some of us, a bed is something we might take for granted. But, for some local kids, it's one thing that would make all the difference. Some groups in the Tennessee Valley are stepping in to help.

Associate Builders and Contractors of North Alabama is partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for kids in need.

ABC Emerging Leaders will be constructing beds for children in the Valley who do not have one of their own.

The groups are collecting twin sized bedding sets from the community so each child has everything they need.

Organizers from ABC say they’re happy to help.

We caught up with Tiffany Brightwell, Chapter President of Associate Builders and Contractors of North Alabama. She says, “You just don’t think about the number of children in our community who don’t have their own bed to sleep in every night. Sleep in Heavenly Peace believes that's a basic fundamental need for health for children is to have that bed. So, we’re able to partner with them to help build the beds.”

Brightwell says the crews aim to make 20 beds and will start construction on September 18th.

You can drop off bedding to the ABC office building on Commerce Circle in Madison until then! Click here for more on how to give!
