Gov. Kay Ivey urges small businesses to act now

ALABAMA, USA — Governor Kay Ivey wants to urge small businesses to act now in regards to federal stimulus dollars.

She says that while the distribution of these dollars is still being decided in Washington, the time to act is now.

In a statement released by the governor's office, Kay Ivey says that small businesses need to contact their banks, accountants, or financial advisers to see the latest information on who is eligible, the documents needed, and how best to apply for relief. She says that it is absolutely imperative that you act now and time is of the essence. 

She says that this step will help put your business a huge step ahead of the other small businesses across the nation that will be competing for the limited amount of funds.

One such loan program is the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP. This allows small businesses to get forgivable loans to pay employees during the COVID-19 crisis.

Governor Ivey urges business owners and any one who qualifies for relief programs to act sooner rather than later.
