HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — The Alabama Gold Star Families Memorial Monument will be installed at the Huntsville-Madison County Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 22.
This is the final installment at the Veterans Memorial Park and it will be escorted there by the Patriot Guard Riders at approximately 9:30 a.m.
According to the Huntsville-Madison County Veterans Memorial, the project was designed to honor, recognize and serve Gold Star Families and the Legacy of their loved ones who passed away.
The monument was developed by Herschel "Woody" Williams. Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial said that one side of the monument will say "Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, a tribute to Gold Star Families and Relatives."
The other side will feature a four-panel story, with panels titled Homeland, Family, Patriot and Sacrifice.
