Folks had the chance to safely get rid of household items they’re no longer using that could be hazardous for the environment if not disposed of properly.
Madison County District Four Commissioner hosted Care Collection Day outside the district office, where cars full of hazardous waste items were safely tossed. Items like old tv’s, paint products, garden poisons, and household cleaners were passed into the hands of workers, who took care of the items from there.
The event is held twice a year at District Four. A household hazardous waste facility will soon open near the landfill, and it will be open 5 days a week.
