Florence police investigating infant death

An autopsy will be conducted and the investigation is active and ongoing, police say.

FLORENCE, Ala. — The Florence Police Department is investigating the death of an infant after responding to a call at a residence in the 400 block of South Orleans Street on Thursday.

Police say officers responded to the residence at around 12:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a dead infant.

An autopsy will be conducted and the investigation is active and ongoing, police say.
