WATCH: FEAR OF GOING TO DOCTOR DURING PANDEMIC COULD BRING LIFE-THREATENING RISKS

We’ve seen studies of people across the county being nervous to seek medical help during the pandemic. But, delaying care can be dangerous, and preventative care is crucial.

We stopped by Beitel Pediatric Dentistry in Huntsville to learn more.

We spoke with Dr. Caroline Taylor Tuesday afternoon. She tells our reporter that delaying care can lead to serious oral and overall health risks. Dr. Taylor adds, “If we’re waiting too long between appointments, we’re not able to recognize problems before they become an issue. That can lead to really severe pain, infection, swelling that can really extend up into the jaw, below the jaw can cause some pretty big issues.”

Beitel Pediatric Dentistry is taking extra safety measures during the pandemic to continue caring for patients. People wait in their cars before appointments, and they have a temperature check and sanitation station at the front door.
