The ribbon’s cut and the doors are open at the Downtown Rescue Mission‘s eighth thrift shop.
The new store at 1946 Winchester Road will help the Mission expand its services like long-term housing. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Mission.
Friday at the grand opening WZDX News talked to the store manager who used to be addicted to heroin and now runs the store that will help give others the opportunities he got.
“The store provides that opportunity with people coming in the door as well as guys that I get to have here that work here that maybe come from the Mission that they get to have a job here,” said Riley Williambeckman. “So I get to minister to them as well.”
The store is offering big sales this weekend as part of their grand opening.
