Decatur Morgan Hospital to open Fever Clinic

Patients who have been pre-screened by a health provider can get easy testing for a variety of health conditions, including COVID-19.

HARTSELLE, Alabama — Beginning Tuesday, March 24, at 9 a.m. Decatur Morgan Hospital will open a Fever Clinic at Hartselle Family Practice. The clinic will operate from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at 1211 Highway 31 NW, Suite B in Hartselle. This clinic is a testing site for patients who have already been pre-screened by their healthcare provider. No initial screenings will be done at the site.

According to Decatur Morgan Hospital, the clinic is for adults 18 and older who have a referral or order from their healthcare provider and have exhibited a broad range of upper respiratory illnesses, including influenza, sore throat, strep throat, fevers or potential exposure to COVID-19. This is not a COVID-19 testing clinic. Patients will only be tested for COVID-19 if testing is indicated by their medical exam. Not all patients will be tested for COVID-19.

Patients must call (256)773-6017 and wait in their car upon arrival. Preliminary registration information will be collected while the patient remains in the car.The patient will be evaluated and possibly tested in their car. The clinic asks that if patients have a mask at home, they wear it.

Bring your photo ID, insurance card and cell phone, if you have one.  The clinic visit will be billed to your health insurance.  No money will be collected on-site. 

If you have a medical emergency such as shortness of breath or respiratory distress, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
