DECATUR, Ala. — The Decatur City Council will re-vote on the city's mask ordinance which was passed on Wednesday afternoon due to a procedural error.
City Attorney Herman Marks said the error involved the way the ordinance was introduced. He said the ordinance was introduced in a work session meeting and not a council meeting as it was supposed to be.
Due to this error, Marks said the City is considering Wednesday night's meeting as officially introducing the ordinance, which will now be voted on on July 10.
At the July 8 meeting, the council passed the ordinance with a 3 to 2 vote.
