Bagpipe player lifting spirits during quarantine

The bagpiper is performing for the residents every Wednesday and Friday until the quarantine is over.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A local bagpiper is lifting the spirits of many elderly people at Redstone Village Senior Living.

Great Highlands bagpiper Roque Haines is playing in hopes of brightening their days while under lock down. He is of course keeping his distance by playing outside.

Redstone Village says the performances are also allowing their residents to see their neighbors from the balconies.

Redstone Village Executive Director Jane Scrivner said, "Watching the residents from their patios, wave, and they're creating signs, we miss you all, so it's just been a real connection for them."

The bagpiper is performing for the residents every Wednesday and Friday until the quarantine is over.
