Auburn University announces 2022 fall ball schedule.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Auburn University announced its softball team will play two games of its fall ball schedule in Hanceville, Ala. On Sunday, October 21, the Tigers will play a doubleheader against Wallace State and Chipola College from Marianna, Fla. The games are two of the team’s eight scheduled for the annual exhibition slate.

Auburn will play entirely on the road, which is necessitated by renovations to their home, on-campus stadium.

“Due to facility projects currently on-going at Jane B. Moore Field, our fall slate will be played entirely on the road,” head coach Mickey Dean said in a release. “This gives us an opportunity to strengthen team chemistry while traveling and play in front of the Auburn Family across the state.”

The Tigers finished last year 40-17 overall, 11-13 in SEC play. They earned the #17 spot in the NFCA/USA Today poll at the conclusion of the regular season and were seeded 10th in the SEC Tournament. After a first-round exist in the league tourney against #24 Missouri, Auburn earned a #2 seed in the Clemson Regional, where they were eliminated in the 2nd round.

Auburn joins Alabama as the two Division I softball teams to play fall ball games in North Alabama.
