Athens-Limestone County Public Library temporarily closes due to COVID-19

The book drop will remain open for those who wish to return materials while the library is closed.

ATHENS, Alabama — The Athens-Limestone County Public Library is closed until July 29 after they say there was a COVID-19 exposure to its staff.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the Library Board and Administration have decided to close the Library until Thursday, July 29th," the library said in a Facebook post.

A cleaning crew is working to deep clean and sanitize the building. Because of this closure, any library materials that are due back during this time period are now due on July 29. The book drop will remain open for those who wish to return materials while the library is closed.

Additionally, the library wants to remind its patrons of its digital book catalog, Camellia Net. Users can log in with their library card number and pin.

The library is expected to reopen on July 29 at 10 a.m.
