Alabama A&M president announces Alumni Advisory Council

The 15 member group will enhance student development and alumni involvement with the school.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama A&M's new president, Daniel K. Wims, is looking for a little help from those who know the school well...former students who have gone on to careers in business and entrepreneurship.

The intent is for the Alumni Advisory Council to engage alumni in the development of long-range planning and "the means through which the alumni sector can help meet University needs."

The school also wants to increase alumni involvement in the recruitment of quality students, the search for meaningful internship opportunities, and the career placement of graduates. The Council will be part of this.

AAMU says that Wims has "charged the new Council with not only identifying development needs, but also with helping to fund and sustain support of those identified areas in need through various fundraising activities."
