40,000 lbs of free groceries will be given away in Huntsville

40,000 lbs of groceries will be given away in Huntsville on Saturday, Nov 13.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Need help with food for yourself or your family? A special grocery giveaway this Saturday could help.

Refuge Church, Huntsville City Schools, JANSON Communications, One Gen Away, and local churches will distribute 40,000 lbs of free groceries this Saturday, November 13th.

Grocery distribution starts at 9:00 a.m. at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville. Enter on Ivy Ave. SW. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Each vehicle will receive one grocery cart of food.

This is a drive-thru event.

Volunteers are also needed for the giveaway. Refuge Church says that prayer volunteers should arrive at 7:00 a.m. and all other volunteers should come at 8:00 a.m.

Huntsville Helping Hands - food distribution by appointment every Saturday, preference given to those affected by pandemic

Manna House (Huntsville) - Open Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:30-6:30 pm,
Saturday 12 noon to 1 pm for anyone in need of food or a hot meal 

House of the Harvest (Madison) - Open every Saturday - Breakfast 6:30 - 8:30 am., Food Distribution 7:30 - 9:00 AM
Wednesday - 2nd and 4th of each month - Dinner 6:00 PM
Sunday - Last Sunday of the month - Prayer Breakfast - 8:00 AM 

Oasis Christian Center (Huntsville)- Distribution from drive-up food pantry on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, starting at 7:00 a.m. until supplies are gone.

Huntsville Assistance Program - Food distribution on Monday, Weds., Friday between 1-3pm. 

Please note - To receive food you need to bring a photo ID for all adults in your family, social security card for everyone in your family and a recent bill showing your name/address.

Feeding Families AL (Hartselle) - Check Facebook page for distribution times.

Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen (Huntsville) - Two hot meals served daily, Monday-Friday, with sack lunches also available. Food box assistance by appointment.
