The lunch debt for Madison City Schools is being completely paid off thanks to a local ministry.

Inside-Out Ministries is donating $21,000 to pay off every outstanding lunch account in the school system.

This donation will help over 1,300 students. Madison City Schools says they are overwhelmed and grateful for the donation. They say paying off this debt will allow the Child Nutrition Program to do more for their schools.

CNP Coordinator Marty Tatara said, “We might be able to buy a new piece of equipment or maybe some new lunchroom tables for a school that needs them. There’s just a wide variety of things we’re planning on doing with that money now that we have it.”

Inside-Out Ministries says the donation is in honor of Superintendent Robby Parker’s retirement.
