Limestone County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a man believed to have taken personal information from at least one mailbox in Limestone County.

He was captured on security video at a local retailer.

The suspect allegedly created false accounts in victims’ names and then used the fraudulent cards and checks at multiple stores.

One victim reported a check stolen from their mailbox that they had written to pay a bill. After the company notified the victim that their check did not arrive, the victim discovered a number of fraudulent charges on the account.

According to investigators, the suspect had taken the routing number and account number of the victim and created a new checkbook displaying the name of a different bank, then had written checks totaling over $4000, overdrafting the victim’s bank account.

A second suspect is wanted in an identity theft and fraud case.

Another victim reported multiple $50 fraudulent transactions on their account. Because they still have the card, it is believed that the suspect cloned it.

Because the suspect was seen on retail security cameras using multiple credit/debit cards to purchase gift cards, investigators believe there are additional victims who haven’t come forward or may live in other counties.

The suspect in this case is a black male, 5’8 to 5’10, 180 to 220 pounds. He is seen in security footage driving both a black Nissan Altima and a white Mitsubishi Eclipse, and has been spotted in Decatur, Athens, Madison, Huntsville, and Hartselle.

The cases are not believed to be connected.

If you have any information about the case or believe you may be a victim, please contact the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office at 256-232-0111.
