Redstone Arsenal is doing its part to get kids interested in military careers.
On Thursday nearly 1,000 JROTC students completed physical challenges and got their questions answered by Redstone workers.
Redstone officials say the goal is to give the students an inside look at what life is like taking their JROTC training to the next level and then keeping it up for the rest of their lives.
“Growing up here myself I’ll tell you, if you’re from here usually all roads lead back to here,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Billy Counts. “What Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley area offer that is kind of unique across the United States is a vast range of opportunities for jobs and vocations.”
Students got to explore military helicopters, plus learn about drones, missiles, and military dogs.
