Hundreds of people will come together in Huntsville this weekend to support those battling Alzheimer’s.

This Sunday at 2:00 pm is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event at Big Spring Park. The walk is put on to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Over 1,000 people are already registered to walk. Their goal is to raise $170,000. Special Events Manager, Jen Manning, says this event is important because Alzheimer’s and dementia impact so many.

“It is the only leading, top ten leading cause of death that’s on the rise, and so the more we know about it, the more research we can get done, the more we can hopefully impact it and prevent it as well as hopefully find a cure,” said Manning.

It’s not too late to sign up. You can still register online or sign up at the walk before it begins.
