Huntsville Fire & Rescue says three fires set this weekend were intentional.

Captain Frank McKenzie says three fires on Cavalry Street were set over the weekend. The properties involved were 1412 Cavalry Street and 1418 Cavalry Street off of University Drive.

On Friday evening, firefighters responded to a shed fire at 1412 Cavalry Street. Early Saturday morning, a few hours after the first fire, a fire was reported at the house next door. Then Saturday night, another fire at the first house.

All three fires were deliberately set. No one was injured in the fires, but the homes are both heavily damaged.

In September, a different fire damaged the deck of the home at 1418 Cavalry Street.

“They were ruled incendiary. We know that they were started. The shed didn’t have any power to it. The second home that I mentioned didn’t have any power on it also, so you know, to continuously have fire at locations that don’t have power on them is kind of unusual,” said Captain McKenzie.

This is an ongoing investigation. If you have any information, call the Huntsville Fire Marshal’s Office at (256) 427-5150.
