Health experts say you should just stay home if you can.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — If you're waiting on the results for a COVID-19 test, health experts say you should self isolate or quarantine until test results come back.

The Children's of Alabama has released some guidelines on what you should be doing while waiting on the results of a coronavirus test. The big takeaway is to stay home. Here's what they said you should do while quarantining or self-isolating.

  • Stay home
  • Separate from others
  • Do not go to school, work, the grocery store, etc.
  • Where a mask if you must leave your home
  • Avoid high-risk people
  • Limit contact with household members
  • Don't send exposed household members to other households
  • Avoid sharing personal household items
  • Clean high-touch surfaces in your home
