The Legacy Center partners with local groups to feed more than 3,000 families

The food drive thru will run until August 26th.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala — Come rain or shine, more than 40 interdenominational faith-based organizations in Huntsville have teamed up to feed more than 3,000 families during the pandemic.

The Legacy Center, Representative Laura Hall, and AARP spearheaded the food drives. Families receive gallons of milk, a box of produce, and health and wellness literature.

The drives are held every Wednesday at several locations, with the exception of Restoration Church (South Huntsville), until August 26th.

The Alabama A&M Cooperative Extensions Systems is also a participating group.

"These extra food resources will help them stretch their dollars to be able to pay rent, buy medicine, and other things that they need to maintain a productive life," says Health & Nutrition Extension Specialist, Andrea Morris.
