Several areas in Alabama are getting better access to high-speed internet.

Governor Ivey awarded over $1.14 million in grants to six areas this week. Here in the Valley, Farmers Telecommunications in Rainsville received $88,000 to provide services to the Fabius and Maxwell communities near Stevenson in Jackson county.

This will impact 47 households and one business. This is all a part of the state’s goals of bringing better internet access to rural communities.
