A GoFundMe account has been started for the family of Sgt. Wytasha Carter, killed in the line of duty on January 13, 2019.
Sgt. Carter was killed and another officer was injured while they were investigating possible car break-ins. At least two suspects opened fire on the officers.
Carter died at UAB from his wounds. The other officer and a 31-year-old suspect are recovering. An 18-year-old suspect is under arrest.
