A Georgia man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in DeKalb County, Ala.
James Harold Hillis, 61, of Silver Creek, Ga., was killed when the 1999 Mack tractor trailer he was driving ran off the roadway and struck a ditch. Troopers say it turned over and then caught on fire. Hillis died at the scene.
The crash happened at 3:40 p.m on Interstate 39 at the 235 mile marker, 15 miles north of Ft. Payne.
ALEA Troopers continue to investigate the crash; no further information is available at this time.
