James Fountain is the Valley's Top Teacher

James Fountain teaches 7th Grade Science and coaches wrestling at East Limestone Middle & High Schools.

ATHENS, Ala. — For one teacher at East Limestone High School, every day is an ‘easy’ day in his classroom.

It’s because he has the rep of making learning fun and engaging. Science is what drives him!

Here’s this week’s Valley’s Top Teacher, James Fountain!

“I have a passion for learning, and I have a passion for sharing my experiences and want to encourage the students to do better and do more and see them succeed in the future,” said 7th Grade Science Teacher, James Fountain.

His deeper passion?

“Science has always been my passion. Specifically life sciences, but really all different subject matters with science. It’s always able to keep my attention,” said Fountain.

While he’s not in the lab, he’s on the mat. It’s his first-year coaching wrestling.

It’s what he did while he was in school. “It kept me focused both in the classroom and outside the classroom toward something positive,” said Fountain.

“Coach Fountain is a great guy to have on campus. Students really love him in the classroom and he’s a hardworking individual. We love having him here. He is a true blessing to our school,” added East Limestone High School Principal Matt Scott.

Juggling both science and sports, you’d think ‘Coach Fountain’ can do it all.

“I can’t claim to do everything, but I do my best,” said Fountain.

His best is having faith in the future generation of leaders. “Really and truly, this generation has nothing but greatness ahead of them. I see them taking things, definitely, way further than I have, and beyond. They have a lot of potential, and I see nothing but greatness ahead of them,” Fountain said.
