Devices now available for pick up at Madison City Schools

Parents can pick up Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots from now through August 12th.

MADISON, Ala. — Parents, listen up! Starting today through August 12th, Madison City Schools will provide devices to prepare your child for virtual learning.

The district will hand out at least 1,500 Chromebooks and 300 WiFi hotspots at the Madison City School Stadium on Celtic drive.

Parents must sign up for time slots for a safer pick-up. Slots times are from 7:30 a.m. To 4:30 p.m.

The district says it's important that students are provided the necessary tools.

"It's just really important that they'll be able to use this device to get into their school programs to be able to complete their lessons. And then of course we're going to have WebExes between students and teachers, and students and students. There's just going to be a lot of collaboration going on," says Madison City Schools Technology Infrastructure Coordinator, Thomas Paone.
