Businesses in Decatur need your help collecting donations for the Barrels of Love food drive.
Decatur Utilities has two barrels set up in their main lobby on Central Parkway. You can drop off donations there or anywhere you see the Barrels of Love poster. They are asking for any non-perishable food items but ask for no glass containers.
Joe Holmes, with Decatur Utilities, said, “We have a lot of can drives during the holiday season back during Christmas and Thanksgiving. Those items are long gone. This helps get through the spring months where people are still having need. Maybe those pantry shelves are a little more bare, so they’re able to refill those and get those folks through the spring months.”
The donated items will go to food pantries and backpack feeding programs in Morgan County.
