Two Decatur men are behind bars after a traffic stop lead to multiple drug trafficking arrests.

On Aug. 8, agents with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit made a traffic stop near 5th Ave. SW and Albert St. SW in Decatur. Upon approach, agents made contact with Christopher Tishon Sales, 29, and Felix Lamar Hampton III, 20, both from Decatur.

During the traffic stop, a Morgan County K9 unit responded to the scene. The K9 unit’s search of the vehicle revealed approximately 2 oz. of Crack Cocaine, marijuana, a large quantity of hydrocodone pills, nearly $3,000 cash, one Mini Draco 7.62 pistol, and a .40 cal handgun.

Christopher Sales was arrested for cocaine trafficking, 1st degree marijuana possession, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. His bond was set at a cumulative $230,000.

Felix Lamar Hampton III was arrested for opiates trafficking, possession of controlled substance (cocaine), 1st degree marijuana possession, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon without a Permit. His bond was set at a cumulative $230,300.

Both men are currently in the Morgan County Jail.
