Contestants prep for Saturday’s Ms. Wheelchair Alabama

Contestants in the Ms. Wheelchair Alabama pageant spent Friday in workshops designed to help them get ready for the competition.

The Ms. Wheelchair Alabama pageant is Saturday night, and contestants spent Friday getting ready to compete for the crown. The three contestants took part in a series of workshops, which were held at the Madison Public Library on Friday. Not your typical beauty pageant— it’s about showing the world to look beyond a person’s disability and focus on their accomplishments.

“We work with them so that we can take their confidence to a whole new level. Just having community support to show that they are truly equals in the community– that their voice matters is really important,” said Joanne Pearson, Ms. Wheelchair Alabama America Inc.

The event will be held at the Four Points Sheraton near the Huntsville International Airport on Saturday at 4:30PM. Doors open to the public at 4PM. VIP admission begins at 3PM.
