Virtual training and support group for caregivers

Local nonprofit provides training and support to caregivers while giving them a space to talk about complicated emotions that can come from caring for loved ones.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Taking care of a loved one with an illness or disability can stir up some complicated emotions.

The Alabama Lifespan Respite Resource Network wants to provide both training and support when it comes to coping with these emotions.

This Wednesday, April 28, they are hosting a Zoom meeting called Caregiver Anger and Guilt, where caregivers can come together to open up to professionals and each other.

"We want caregivers to be able to talk to one another, to talk to us, so it is very laid back, more of a support group style setting and we promote them talking to each other. Truly as a caregiver, your greatest support is gonna be another caregiver, people that know what is going on and can relate to your life, so that's kind of the basis of our trainings," said Alabama Lifespan Respite Project Coordinator, Carley Frensley.
