Community helps Huntsville girls for prom

Many girls attended WEUP's Lashay B's Beauty prom dress drive, to receive prom dresses and more from their community.

What’s better than the perfect prom dress, when it cost you nothing?

“We got the dress, we got the hair do, and I mean everything is coming together,” Coronda Reynolds said.

Cornoda Reynolds over heard a radio ad on WEUP about Saturday’s prom dress drive. She and her daughter, Justice Reynolds, came to the drive not expecting to walk away with so many things donated from their community.

“It’s just a great idea I feel like for someone who wants to do something for others. And you know it doesn’t just make that person happy..but the one getting the dress,” Justice Reynolds said.

This is the second year of WEUP’s radio host Lashay B’s Beauty’s Prom Dress Drive. For volunteers seeing the glow on each young ladies face is well worth it.

“Just to they fulfilled their prom dress dream is exciting,” volunteer Ciara Robison said.

Thanks to the perfect assistance, it’s smooth sailing until Coronda sends her daughter off to prom.

“This is really been a big stress relief and a burden off of me now that she is able to go,” Coronda Reynolds said.
