Blue Bell ice cream is voluntarily recalling a select lot of one of their flavors of ice cream due to possible foreign object contamination.

This select lot of Butter Crunch ice cream was produced on Aug. 26, 2019 in Blue Bell’s Sylacauga, Ala. plant. The issue was discovered when a consumer notified the company of a plastic tool in a half gallon of Butter Crunch ice cream. After an investigation, the company decided to recall the full day’s production of the flavor.

To see if you have this specific lot in your freezer, check the code located on the top of the packaging lid. The recalled lot’s code is the following: 082621222.

The recalled Butter Crunch half gallons were distributed in parts of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. All affected stores have been instructed to remove the product from their shelves. No injuries have been reported.

If you happen to have one of the recalled half gallons, return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
