The reward for information in the case of a missing Alabama college student is now more than $100,000.
19-year-old Aniah Blanchard vanished almost two weeks ago. Her car was found a few days later badly damaged. Friends and family of Aniah Blanchard say they know the missing college student is out there somewhere. The 19-year-old disappeared nearly two weeks ago, last seen on surveillance video leaving a convenience store in auburn on the night of Oct. 23.
Blanchard reportedly sent a friend a message just before midnight suggesting she was going to go see a man she had met on a dating app, however, her stepfather, UFC fighter Walt Harris, says it would be out of character for her.
Two days after leaving the convenience store, Blanchard’s Honda was found outside a Montgomery apartment complex, fifty-five miles away, with noticeable damage. In a statement, police say they believe quote, “she was harmed and is considered to be a victim of foul play.” That claim is based on unspecified evidence found in her vehicle. The community has rallied around Blanchard with multiple prayer vigils.
At least sixty investigators from local, state and federal law enforcement are involved in the search.
