According to American Red Cross CEO Gail McGovern, the non-profit responds to a disaster every eight minutes.
To keep up with rising demand, the Red Cross is hosting their fifth annual Day of Giving fundraiser Wednesday.
They’re asking the public to assist them in raising enough money to help more than 25,000 families this year.
