There’s no question that this has been a deadly year on the water in Alabama, and as we head into Labor Day weekend, law enforcement is encouraging safety.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 28 people have lost their lives to boating accidents so far this year. They say a leading cause of that is alcohol. ALEA is encouraging people to have a sober boat operator.
They’re also asking people to make sure there are life vests on board and that the boat has working lights.
