HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Savanna Samuels is a producer for FOX54 News in Huntsville.
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Savanna has taken her talents from the North to the South. However, she received her education and skillset from the East coast, graduating from Howard University in Wshington, D.C. She majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Sports Administration and has found a passion for news.
During Savanna’s matriculation at Howard she had the opportunity to be a sports reporter as well as television host for a campus-led television show, Yard Talk. Though she has experience in sports production, Savanna has also received her passion for news and loving community from interning with the oldest Black newspaper publication company, The AFRO-American newspaper, as their Digital Content Intern. But it doesn’t start there. Savanna showed an interest in news at an early age after being inspired to compete in state-wide drama competitions in the category of News Reporting. After taking it all at the state competition her 8th grade year, she knew she found her niche.
Savanna enjoys reading, drinking tea, and catching up on shows in her free time. She also likes to show off and solve her Rubik’s Cube in record time, from time-to-time.
