HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Nixon Norman is a multimedia journalist with FOX54 News in Huntsville, AL.
Nixon is from Atlanta, Georgia, and has loved being both in front of and behind the camera for as long as she can remember. She graduated in December 2019 from the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a B.A. in journalism and a minor in theatre.
When it comes to reporting, Nixon cares about telling stories of community impact, telling stories visually and giving a platform to those who need to be heard. She believes that everyone has a story worth telling.
Her interests in storytelling and video production started at a young age and she was always a part of the morning announcements: K-12, and especially in high school. In college, she worked for Grady Newsource, UGA's news broadcast channel, and worked an array of positions there, such as production manager, news and weather anchor, producer, multimedia journalist and content manager. She also spent time as a radio personality at WUOG 90.5 FM, UGA's student-run radio station.
After college, she worked in creative services at FOX 5 Atlanta, which grew her love for all things video production but soon realized she was meant to be out in the field and feeling the rush and fast-paced nature of reporting.
Nixon loves living in Huntsville and now calls this her home away from home, she especially loves Taco Mama. In her free time, she enjoys surfing the web, laughing, going for long walks and believes anything can be an adventure if you make it one.
