Meet Amy, a deaf and partially blind little kitty who’s the third pet in our 12 Strays of Christmas series.
Amy needs a home for the holidays. She’s six years old and has been at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society for more than three months.
“She’s very deaf. We have to kind of blow on her a little bit to get her attention,” said Clinic Assistant Chyna Barksadale. “She’s a really, really sweet cat. She’s very fat so when she runs around she kind of prances and it’s really, really cute.”
Amy’s favorite activity is sitting in her bucket.
“She loves the bucket,” Barksdale said. “She loves to feel secure so she would probably be a really good lap cat.”
Amy was surrendered with three other cats and is the only one who doesn’t have a home.
“A married couple, the husband is mentally challenged and his wife passed away,” Barksdale explained. “So after his wife passed away he couldn’t take care of the cats. So he surrendered four cats to us, so she came with three others and she’s the only one left. Amy was his wife’s name so we kept it ‘Amy.'”
Adopt Amy now by checking out the Greater Huntsville Humane Society online or in person.
