Wind Advisory Monday Afternoon - Tuesday Morning

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a Wind Advisory for all of the Tennessee Valley starting at 3 PM Monday lasting through 4 AM Tuesday.

During this time frame, winds will increase to 25-35 mph, gusting close to 45 mph at times. In the higher elevations of northeast Alabama, some ridges may experience wind gusts closer to 50 mph.

Small trees and branches may be knocked down. This could lead to some road blocks as well as isolated power outages.

Driving a high profile vehicle during this time may be difficult.

Make sure to secure or bring in all patio furniture, trash cans, and any other loose items you have outside.

Winds will be picking up because of Irma moving into the area. Irma is forecasted to weaken from a Tropical Storm over south Georgia on Monday afternoon, to a Tropical Depression over Alabama Tuesday morning.
