Mo' Sports Moment - Louisiana Tech faces 3rd-and-93 following bizarre 87-yard fumble

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech, already down 57-14 during a blowout against Mississippi State, were in the red zone and seemingly about to score when, on second-and-goal, they lost an astonishing 87 yards on a fumble.

It started with a botched snap at their Tech’s own six.

The Louisiana Tech quarterback made the first attempt to get the fumble around the 30, but, like many after him would, couldn’t secure the ball.

Across midfield for the next 20 yards or so, two Mississippi State defenders collided with one another trying to pick it up.

The instead resulted in the ball getting hit a long ways, and the chase was on as one Mississippi State defender and one Louisiana Tech player tracked the ball down inside the 10.

At the 7, the Louisiana Tech player came up with the ball, and it left his team with a mind-boggling 3rd and 93.

If you were wondering: no, they didn’t convert on the next play.
