One person killed in early morning fire in Huntsville

The call came in around 1:00 Saturday morning

HUNTSVILLE, Ala - One person was killed in an early morning fire Saturday. The call came in around 1:00 a.m. 

Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames through the roof when they arrived at 1800 Rideout road in Huntsville. It took them 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

Madison County Coroner Bobby Berryhill has identified the man killed in the fire as 76-year-old William Arthur Lamb.

Huntsville Police Department, Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) and the American Red Cross were all on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
